If your tee shot is selected, then your partner must play the second shot, alternating until the ball is holed. Penalty for making a stroke in the wrong order (breach of Rule 22.3) is the General Penalty (2 strokes). If the side does not correct the mistake, before the start of the next hole, the side is disqualified.
Tees: MGA Tournament Tees - Approximately 6,300 yards (B/W Combo)
Handicaps: Players must be an MGA member in good standing and have 10 scores posted in the last 6 months. Players with fewer than 10 scores can play, but their handicap will be adjusted by the Tournament Committee.
Player's handicaps will be calculated using the handicap index on the Wednesday before the tournament. Pinehurst (Modified Alternate Shot) Handicap Allowance will be 60% of Low Handicap and 40% of High Handicap. Handicap Allowance is based on the WHS Rules of Handicapping (Appendix C) recommendation.
Ties: In the event of a tie for the top 3 places, there will be a play-off on hole #18 using the same Modified Alternate Shot Format described above. The tiebreaker will continue until the tie is broken. All other ties will be determined based on a scorecard playoff from Sunday’s round, using the USGA 9, 6, 3, 1 method.

The seven (7) lowest scoring net teams on hole one (1) will advance. A chip-off will break any ties from hole one (1). A Professional Staff member will select the chip off point. All teams WILL NOT be able to watch the chip off! Chip off order will be determined by random draw. The seven (7) qualifying teams from hole one (1) will start on hole number two (2). The three (3) lowest scoring net teams on hole two (2) will advance. A chip-off will break any ties from hole two (2). The same rules will apply for all chip-offs during the horserace. Payouts / Prizes: The 10 lowest total net scores, the 3 lowest total gross scores, and the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place finishers in the horse race will be paid. All pay-outs will be in Pro Shop Credit. In the event any team finishes with a score in the lowest 10 net and the lowest 3 gross, they will be awarded the larger payout, (ie, no team can win both net and gross payouts) A Winter Classic trophy will be awarded to each member of the lowest net and lowest gross teams.
